JAMMER Professional 6 version 6.0.3.1 Change Log Copyright 1990-2006 SoundTrek All Rights Reserved ======================================================================= RELEASE HISTORY * VERSION: 6.0.3.1 - Maintenance Release FIX When loading a version 4 or earlier song with controller events embedded in a drum track, the controller number is no longer incorrectly set when converting the MIDI events. FIX Chord previewing with multiple ports no longer causes hung notes. CHANGE After composing, if the drum fills track is empty it is automatically removed. To override this behavior, change the Settings.ini value composer_drum_fills_auto_remove_empty_fills_track to zero. FIX Dragging a note in the piano roll below note zero could cause a crash in certain cases. CHANGE Two new items added to right click menu in Measures View, 1) 'Set Punch to Selection' and 2) 'Set Punch and Loop to Selection' CHANGE Some more demo songs have been added to the release. FIX Fixed a bug where wildcard arpeggio compiled types could result in a stream of a single note. Composer now handles wildcard arpeggio compiled types better (although compiled value usage is still limited). FIX Fixed a bug where under certain circumstances, wild card drum fill notes would not work properly when loading version 4 and earlier songs. FIX Fixed a display issue for tracks with no patch but forcing a drum note FIX Fixed a bug where compiling certain event lists with benders would take a very long time. CHANGE Changed default bender range for new riffs and changed certain compiler presets to work better with MIDI parts using pitch wheel events. FIX Fixed bug where pasted MIDI notes would have their durations trimmed to a very small duration. CHANGE MIDI File export now allows you to trim note durations for all exported notes. CHANGE Various other composer changes & tweaks. ======================================================================= * VERSION: 6.0.2.1 - Maintenance Release FIX Fixed a bug where pressing Ctrl+V to paste in an edit control would paste twice. FIX On the Style Tree menu right click menus, Refresh now works for all items instead of just at the top level. CHANGE After clicking the "Compose a sample" button in the Load grooves dialog, focus is now set back to the list of groove files. FIX Fixed a bug where band styles could get assigned duplicated ids, which could cause anomalies when copying and pasting. CHANGE When composing in the Style Builder, the newest musician is automatically selected. Also there is now a check box to automatically compose when adding/replacing musicians. So you can now quickly replace musicians and compose in one step by simply double clicking a musician in the list on the right. CHANGE New preference added to the Measures View section in Settings / Preferences. When deleting band styles in the Measures View, once the last instance of a band style is deleted, the band style is then automatically deleted from the Style Editor as well. This is OFF by default so if you want this behavior be sure to turn it on in your preferences. CHANGE When deleting band styles in the Style Editor, any references to this style in the Measures View are now automatically deleted (i.e. no more "No Matching Style") CHANGE On the right click menus in the Style Tree (except for the riff) there is a new item allowing you to clear mute and/or solo for all of the item's child grooves and riffs CHANGE In the Style Editor, the riff's revoicing page has been redesigned. Also a new revoicing mode has been added that will try to keep the revoice as similar to the riff as possible by using the note count, velocity and duration of any ringing notes. CHANGE The text displayed in the 'Player' column in the tracks view is simplified and should be clearer now. If no musician in the current band style is using this track, the 'Player' column will display 'None in Band' to let you know that the current track is not used in the current band style. CHANGE Double clicking the 'Edit Style' column while on the drum fills track will open the style editor and select the drum fills musician in the current band style. This item displays '---' if there is no musician in the current band style using the track. CHANGE For usage weight menus there are two new commands to double or halve all usage weights. CHANGE In the Style Editor, the drum fills musician now shows it's track assignment on the 'Main' page (the first musician set to composer type 'Drum Fills' is the one that will be used). Track assignment is completely automatic. CHANGE The "Go to track" tool on the Style Editor tool bar now works for drum fill musicians & tracks. CHANGE The "Edit Current Musician" tool on the Tracks View tool bar now works for drum fill musicians & tracks. FIX Fixed a bug where previously composed drum fills would not be erased if there were no drum fills being composed in the current punch area (or selection). CHANGE Drum fills are still written to a separate drum fills track, but now the track is a style track and therefore has Compose / Keep / Erase modes just like the other musicians in the band style. FIX Drum fill composer wild card notes now work with the drum key map in the style patch table instead of always using General MIDI snare and tom notes (the drum fill track's style patch is used). Also, in the style editor, for any drum fill musician you can set the exact notes to use for drum fill wildcard notes and crash cymbals. CHANGE For drum fill musicians you can now select from four different crash cymbals (weighted so that you can blend them). CHANGE For drum fill musicians you can now specify the velocity of added crash cymbals. FIX Fixed a bug where pressing Ctrl+W with no songs would close JAMMER. CHANGE The composer now supports MIDI controllers in riffs. Before/after context is retained for level, pan, reverb, chorus, modulation and expression controllers. All other controllers are output 'as is' with no special processing or clean up. FIX In the Style Editor on the band style's mixer page, the pan, reverb and chorus controls now function as intended. Note that after making adjustments, the changes are not heard until you compose the band style. FIX The compiled types 'Offset from last note', 'Wildcard 1 or 5' and 'Offset from last note' now work as intended. CHANGE In the chord voicing editor two new options are added allowing you to preview the voicing with a bass note added and you can select whether to strum or pluck the notes when previewing voicings. Also, when incrementing and decrementing the lower limit the voicing is sounded at the lower limit making it much easier to set this correctly. To hear the voicing at the current lower limit click in the lower limit display and hold down the mouse button. CHANGE Style Builder tutorial updated so that it takes advantage of the new features. It is recommended to go through this tutorial again, even if you have already done so in the past as this is the quickest way to explore the new additions. FIX In the Load Band Style dialog box the 'Use tempo' check box setting is always remembered now (previously the setting would not be retained if you clicked the Close button). CHANGE In the 'Add Musicians' form in the Style Builder, a new column is added showing the file name that each musician was loaded from (providing the musician was loaded in the Style Builder) CHANGE For riffs in musicians with the composer type set to "Drums", the "Raw MIDI note" compiled type will now be composed. Previously only "Drum" compiled types were recognized by the drum composer, all other compiled types were ignored. CHANGE When adding a new musician in the style editor the default musician name will be set to the style patch name of the new musician unless a custom name is entered. CHANGE The MIDI To Style tool will now search tracks for the first occurring MIDI patch event in the case the track itself does not have a bank and patch or style patch (when it is defaulting the musician parameters for the tracks). FIX Using +,-,[, or ] to increment and decrement in the Tracks View patch column on drum tracks no longer causes the track to switch to using a forced drum note. FIX Harmony composer musicians now pay attention to level offset in the band style's musician mixer. ======================================================================= * VERSION: 6.0.1.1 - Initial release ======================================================================= JAMMER is a registered trademark of SoundTrek.
